The early internet was mostly travel by academic and government types.  It flourished as a tool for research and collaboration, allowing scientists everywhere to share information.


Web browsers are a piece of  software that you use to navigate web pages. The web server deals with the request by firing the desired Web page back to the browser.

Chapter 2 Creating Your First Page

HTML tells a Web browser how to format a page. HTML fills the gap by supplying information that any browser can interpret.
Creating Your Own HTML Files

1. Fire up your favorite text editor

2. Start writing HTML content

3. When you’ve finished your Web page, save the document (simple file-save).

The HTML Tag

Now that you know how to peer into existing HTML files and  create  your own. HTML tags ae the formatting instructions that tell the browser how to transform ordinary text into something that’s visually appealing.
